Torise Biomaterials Earns DINplus Certification for Compostable Products

Summary

Torise Biomaterials has received DIN PLUS certification, ensuring that its compostable bags meet strict biodegradability standards. This certification requires that the products completely decompose within 6 weeks in an industrial composting environment and guarantees that they are safe for the environment. Torise Biomaterials is committed to providing customers with high-quality, truly environmentally friendly compostable products.

Torise Biomaterials achieves DINplus certification

To speed up the composting process and ensure quality, DIN CERTCO has developed a state-of-the-art certification system that requires products to be composted within 6 weeks. This cuts the time required by EN 13432 by half and meets all its requirements. Products that pass this certification are awarded the "DINplus Biowaste Bags" logo.
Torise Biomaterials is proud to be DINplus certified and is committed to providing customers with high standards of biodegradable and compostable products.
In 2022, Germany revised the Biowaste Ordinance. From November 1, 2023, DINplus-certified garbage bags will be officially recognized as compostable materials and will no longer be considered foreign matter.

Evaluation criteria for DINplus certification

Complete biodegradability: The product must achieve a biodegradation rate of more than 90% within 6 months under natural conditions.

Industrial composting decomposition: In an industrial composting environment, the product must be completely decomposed into particles less than 2 mm within 6 weeks.

Ecological safety: The composted material is harmless to plants, and the germination rate and plant biomass must reach more than 90% of the blank control.

Chemical composition analysis: Focus on testing the heavy metals and toxic substances of the product to ensure that it will not have a negative impact on the environment during the composting process.

Infrared spectroscopy detection: By analyzing the molecular structure of the material, it is ensured that it exhibits consistency and complete degradation throughout the composting process.
